James Blakey
Hi, I’m James. I’ve been involved in the automotive industry for 25+ years. An auto electrician by trade. I am very passionate about the work we do here at VANtage Customs and pride myself on the quality of workmanship I produce.
I bring to the company a wealth of experience from my time in the automotive including composite manufacturing experience from the Mclaren P1 hybrid hypercar programme.
I spent 2 years at Mclaren special operations within the quality team delivering bespoke projects to high-end clients.
I'm a family man, a keen mountain biker and adventurer; getting away in my own van as much as possible with my family and solo. Living the van life grants me the real-world experience that I can share with you to deliver the best possible solution for your van life dream, whether for work or pleasure.

"We originally approached James to convert a Nissan but were quickly enamoured by a VW conversion so I bought a fairly new builder's van which he then converted to a camper van. All insulation, lighting, pop top, swivel seat and windows were put in with an amazing wooden interior fitting in a double bed, u-shaped seating area and table, sink, worktop and shelf, hob grill and even a loo! Great service"
